RISE Together – Women’s Belonging & Wellbeing Circles (Springburn)

Published on 24 October 2025 at 21:39

RISE Together – Women’s Belonging & Wellbeing Circles (Springburn) is a wellbeing initiative created to support women in Scotland to rebuild confidence, balance, and inner strength.

Through community workshops, mindfulness sessions, and creative wellbeing activities, RISE Together empowers women to reconnect with themselves and with each other — fostering resilience, inclusion, and belonging.

Our Wellbeing Coordinator is not only a yoga instructor but also a rehabilitation specialist — an inspiring person who combines deep knowledge of body, mind, and recovery. With many years of experience, she helps people restore balance, improve flexibility, and strengthen both physical and emotional health. Her holistic approach makes every session unique, supportive, and accessible for all levels. Whether you are looking to reduce stress, recover after challenges, or simply feel more energized, she will guide you with care and dedication.

We are currently forming a new group.

About the organisation

ProUA Hub is a grassroots, women-led community group based in Springburn, Glasgow.
Our entire Board of Directors and leadership team are women refugees from Ukraine, who have resettled in Scotland since 2022.
We empower women and girls (aged 12+) through safe spaces for wellbeing, creativity, and confidence-building.
Our activities respond directly to what women tell us they need:
“I stay at home for days.”
“I want to speak but I’m scared.”
“I miss being part of something.”

We exist to turn those words into connection, belonging, and strength.

Why this project is needed

In Springburn, many women — refugees, carers, and older residents — live with isolation, anxiety, and language barriers.
Formal services often feel intimidating or inaccessible. Women repeatedly tell us they need gentle, safe, women-only spaces to rebuild trust and find confidence.

The RISE Together project answers this need — offering practical emotional support, connection, and community belonging for women and girls.
It directly supports the WFS priorities of helping women rise out of isolation (RISE) and heal from stress and disconnection (HEAL).

What the project will do

From April to September 2026, ProUA Hub will deliver two weekly women-only activities in Springburn:

- RISE Circles (Belonging & Wellbeing): guided group sessions focused on relaxation, reflection, emotional sharing, and stress management — always in a warm, women-led setting.
- Confidence English for Women: friendly, practical speaking sessions that help women communicate in daily life, ask for help, and build independence.

Each month, we’ll host a “Women Connect” Tea Gathering, celebrating women’s stories, culture, and resilience.
All sessions are bilingual (Ukrainian/English), inclusive, and 100% women-only.

Who will benefit

- 40–60 women and girls (aged 12+) living in Springburn and nearby areas.
- Including: Ukrainian refugees, local Scottish women, unpaid carers, and older women 60+.
- Priority to women with low income, language barriers, or limited confidence.

Participants will:
- Feel less lonely and more connected.
- Gain confidence and calmness in daily communication.
- Develop peer-support and leadership skills.

Monitoring & safeguarding

We’ll track attendance, pre/post questionnaires (“How connected do you feel?”), and qualitative reflections.
Facilitators will log stories and outcomes. For participants under 18, we follow safeguarding and parental consent procedures.
All sessions are women-only, led by trained bilingual female facilitators.

Sustainability & partnerships

After September 2026, ProUA Hub will continue monthly women’s circles through volunteer support and partnerships with:
Springburn Unity Network, Spirit of Springburn, and ngHomes. These collaborations provide access to venues, joint community events, and visibility for women’s voices.

Women who develop confidence during this project will co-lead future wellbeing and speaking sessions — ensuring long-term continuity.
