ProUA Hub Took Part in the Vyshyvanka Parade in Glasgow
On May 23, 2026, the streets of Glasgow burst into life with all the vibrant colors of Ukrainian ornaments as the city hosted the Ukrainian Vyshyvanka Parade.
The main organizer of this large-scale celebration was DOVIRA, an organization that did an incredible job of bringing hundreds of people together into one bright, united march. The ProUA Hub team joined the event with great joy and pride, becoming an integral part of this celebration of unity and culture.
The Beginning of the March: George Square
It all started in the city's central square. The atmosphere there was truly incredible: people shared warm hugs, unfurled flags, told the stories behind their embroidered shirts, and helped each other tie ribbons.
As the procession moved through the city streets:
-
Ukrainian songs echoed along the way, while Scottish passersby stopped, smiled, and applauded the parade.
-
Local residents approached the participants to ask about the meanings behind the patterns on the shirts. In those moments, hearts were filled with immense pride for our heritage.
Gathering at Kelvingrove Park
The march concluded at Kelvingrove Park, which transformed into a vibrant Ukrainian hub for a few hours. There, DOVIRA and other partner initiatives created a wonderful space for people to connect, talk, and share experiences.
Strength in Unity
This day showed just how vital it is to stand together and showcase the beauty and strength of our traditions to the world.
We are immensely grateful to DOVIRA for their outstanding organization and leadership, as well as to every volunteer and participant who came out and shared a piece of their warmth.
The Glasgow Parade proved once again: no matter where we are, our culture lives in our hearts and unites us across any distance.
Thank you for being with us!
