Wishing Path: Art of Wishes is a creative wellbeing project that transforms part of Springburn Park into a colourful space of hope and connection.
Together with local residents, volunteers, and artists, ProUA Hub is creating twelve beautifully painted benches — each symbolising a universal wish such as Health, Peace, Love, Happiness, and Gratitude.
The project combines art, mindfulness, and community spirit, inviting everyone to pause, reflect, and believe in better days.
Every bench carries a message of kindness and resilience — a reminder that dreams can grow when we nurture them together.
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our project, "Wishing Path: The Art of Wishes," has been awarded a grant from GCVS (Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector) through the Glasgow Wellbeing Fund!
This creative initiative is dedicated to enhancing mental wellbeing and strengthening community bonds through art, mindfulness, and collaboration. Together, we will transform a section of Springburn Park into a vibrant "Wishing Alley."
What are we planning?
The project involves creating a unique public art space by repainting 12 park benches. Each bench will represent a universal human value, such as Health, Peace, Love, Hope, and Gratitude. Led by a professional artist and supported by volunteers, local residents, and displaced Ukrainians, we will create a lasting symbol of unity and wellbeing in the heart of our park.
Who can join?
The project is open to all residents of North Glasgow (ages 16+), with a particular focus on:
-
Displaced Ukrainians and refugees rebuilding their lives;
-
Local residents of Springburn and Robroyston;
-
Women and single parents facing isolation or stress;
-
Individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions.
We strive to provide a fully inclusive environment where everyone can overcome loneliness, build new friendships, and experience the joy of creative self-expression in the fresh air.
Why does it matter?
The "Wishing Alley" is more than just art. It is a space for reflection, rest, and emotional recovery. Participants will not only engage in painting but also take part in mindfulness workshops designed to reduce anxiety and build emotional resilience.
We are deeply grateful to GCVS for their trust and for supporting the wellbeing of our community!
Stay tuned for updates on workshop dates and park events.
Together, we will make Springburn Park better.
